South Australia 2024

In Person Event

The night at
Adelaide Oval – War Memorial Drive, Adelaide

Starting at 6:00pm, you’ll arrive and be joined by many special people – people who’ve lived through the harsh realities of homelessness and poverty, as well as volunteers and support staff. Every conversation is another opportunity to learn more about poverty and homelessness in Australia.

What happens?

It’s a Sleepout – but you’ll do much more than sleep. There are a bunch of talks to listen to and be part of. You’ll have the chance to ask questions and make powerful connections with others who share the same desire for change. While you can plan to dress warm and use your best sleeping bag, there’s no way to truly prepare for an evening like this. Just know there’s plenty of support on hand and a wonderful community of leaders ready to experience this with you. And if you feel unwell, we ask that you remain at home.

What to bring:

  • Appropriate clothing, a pillow and a sleeping bag.
  • Your phone, tablet and camera (fully charged) to capture the experience.

What not to bring:

  • Luxury bedding, blow-up mattress, yoga mat or any other camping materials.
  • Your own food – you’ll be served a basic dinner and brekky. There’s water, tea and coffee available.
  • Alcohol.

The Vinnies CEO Sleepout is for registered participants only. We do not allow entry to friends, family (including children), colleagues, or your pets.

Where to park

There is paid metered parking on Memorial Drive if you can find a space, otherwise parking is available underground at Adelaide Oval East Car Park.

Tontine Pillows (available for pre-order)

Thanks to National Supporting Sponsor Tontine, you can pack a little lighter for the Vinnies CEO Sleepout and leave your pillow at home, by ordering a Tontine pillow to collect on the night.

To order a pillow, please make a $100 donation to your fundraising profile and email adelaide@ceosleepout.org.au to let us know.

Your pillow will be available for collection upon arrival, and you’ll sleep easier knowing your contribution is helping us reach our fundraising goal.

Pillows will also be available for purchase on the night, however pre-ordering will help us ensure we have enough pillows available.

Auction on the night

We will have several special experiences up for grabs this year, with the lucky bidder having the purchase price going towards their fundraising tally:

To date the following items will be available, with more to come:

  • Sleep in a swag.
  • Sleep on the couch.
  • VIP ‘Firefighter for a Day’ Team Experience.
  • Fred’s Van Team Volunteering Night.
