Overcoming homelessness, one night at a time
Did you know that more than 122 000 people across Australia do not have a safe and secure place to live.Â
As
Australian’s we are all feeling the increase of cost of living, it was the
biggest chat around the recent budget announcement, ‘What is the government
doing to help alleviate it?’.
The current
need is greater than what the federal budget can solve, that is why the role of
charities in our society is critical.
As a CEO of
a charity (@MAF Australia), I know the unique and important role that charities
play in ensuring that often the most vulnerable people of society can have
access to basic human need services such as crisis accommodation, food,
healthcare, counselling, education, employment, and support to find a permanent
home.
That is why
this year for the first time I am taking part in the @Vinnies Australia CEO sleep out, to partner
with other CEO’s and a fellow charity to ensure that the more than 122 000
Australians who do not have a safe and secure place to live can have access to basic
human need services.
