This year, I’m not just sleeping out — I’m stepping up.

As the founder of Danielle Cleary Events (DCE) & a passionate advocate for women in business, I’m proud to lead the Women Building Change "Wall of Pledges" campaign in support of the 2025 Vinnies CEO Sleepout.

This campaign isn’t just about raising funds - it’s about women leading real change in the building & construction industry by showing what it truly means to build shelter, safety & security for those experiencing homelessness.

What makes this personal for me is that before launching my creative events & communications agency Danielle Cleary Events, I was the owner & manager of a local commercial metal roofing company. I’ve worked with tradies, suppliers, builders & project managers firsthand, which makes this initiative - and its deep ties to the industry, all the more meaningful. It’s a full-circle moment to now be using my voice & creative tools to amplify the impact of women who build - literally & figuratively.

Working alongside inspiring leaders including Jo Whitfield (CEO, ACT Building and Construction Industry Training Fund Authority), Joanne Farrell (Builder, Mentor, 2024 ACT Australian of the Year), Karen Porter (Solace Creations) & Catherine Carter CEO DJAS Architecture / Founder + Managing Director Salon Canberra / Adjunct Professor, University of Canberra, we’re building a collaborative campaign that gives back in a bold & visible way.

The Concept:

Solace Creations in Fyshwick will serve as our central drop-off & pledge hub, where sponsors & supporters can donate:

• Products

• Service vouchers

• Cash donations (or donate directly via this page)

Each pledge is written on a window at Solace using a wipeable marker – creating a growing 'Wall of Pledges' that reflects the generosity & unity of our industry.

From $20,000 renovation vouchers to tools, insurance, landscaping services or gutter cleans - every pledge builds hope.

All pledged items will be auctioned via our partner ALLBIDS (supported by CEO & 2025 Vinnies CEO Sleepout Ambassador Ben Hasting), with 100% of funds raised donated directly to Vinnies. These funds will be shared across all participating CEO Sleepout Women Building Change.
