One night isn't a lot, but it can make a whole lot of difference

Every night, thousands of Australians are without a safe place to call home. Behind this number are real people—families, young people, women and children escaping violence, older Australians, are doing it tough. But homelessness isn’t inevitable. Together, we can change the story.

This year, I’m taking part in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout—spending one night outside to raise vital funds and awareness for the St Vincent de Paul Society, who work tirelessly to support those most vulnerable in our communities.

It’s a small act that reflects a far greater reality—because for many, sleeping rough isn’t a choice, it’s a painful and ongoing struggle.

At Catholic Healthcare, our commitment to the vulnerable lies at the very heart of our mission. We are focused on supporting three key groups in particular:

• Those experiencing or at risk of a crisis in housing,
• People facing financial disadvantage, and
• Those enduring social isolation and abandonment.

Through compassionate care and practical support, we’re working every day to provide dignity, connection, and hope to those who need it most.
