Health Starts with a Home
Every night, thousands of Australians experience homelessness. But it doesn't have to be that way. This year I'm taking part in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout to raise money for the St Vincent de Paul Society to support Australians in need. For one night, I'll be sleeping outside as part of an eye-opening experience to raise awareness and bring home the realities of homelessness.
And on 21st March, the Cornerstone Medical Recruitment team are swapping our beds for sleeping bags, spending the night in our office to raise awareness, gain further understanding and funds for homelessness.
Good health starts with safe and stable housing. Homelessness is more than just a social issue—it’s a health crisis. Without a home, people struggle to access medical care, manage chronic conditions, and recover from illness or injury. Many healthcare workers see firsthand how unstable housing leads to poorer health outcomes, increased hospital admissions, and a cycle that’s hard to break.
