Homelessness doesn't always look the way you think it does.
We’ve all seen someone sleeping rough in the park, near a shop, in a sleeping bag. Many of us walk past, unsure how to help or even a little afraid.
But homelessness can be hidden too. It could be someone at your workplace. It could be the person who just served you at the shops.
It can happen to anyone. Regardless of their background, job, or financial situation. I know this because I’ve come very close to experiencing it myself with kids to care for.
That fear, that uncertainty. It never really leaves you.
That’s why I’m taking part in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout. I wish to raise awareness and funds for people experiencing homelessness and those at risk of it.
One night outside won’t compare to the reality many people face daily, but it’s one step towards change.
