#HealthforHomeless Team - MedTech and Lifesciences CEO Sleepout Team 2025

Nobody chooses to be homeless, but it could happen to anyone. As leaders in the MedTech and Lifesciences industry, we understand the importance of health and well-being for all members of our community. That's why the #HealthforHomeless Team is participating in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout on June 19, 2025, in Sydney.

Our Mission

Our team is committed to breaking the cycle of homelessness by raising awareness and funds for those experiencing or at risk of homelessness. We believe that everyone deserves access to safe shelter, proper healthcare, and essential support services.

The Reality of Homelessness

In Australia, over 122,000 people are currently experiencing homelessness, with 28,191 of these in New South Wales alone. The causes are complex and varied:

- Domestic violence
- Mental health issues
- Unexpected life events (death of a loved one, job loss, relationship breakdown)
- Cost-of-living pressures
- Lack of affordable housing

In Sydney, the high cost of living and lack of social housing have put many at risk of homelessness, with some just one paycheck away from losing their homes.

Our Commitment

By participating in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout, we aim to:

1. Raise crucial funds for Vinnies' homelessness services
2. Increase awareness about the complex issues surrounding homelessness
3. Advocate for systemic changes to address the root causes of homelessness

How You Can Help

Your support can make a significant difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness:

1. Donate: Every contribution, no matter how small, helps provide essential services.
2. Spread the word: Share our mission with your network to increase awareness and support.
3. Volunteer: Join us in supporting local initiatives that address homelessness.

The Impact of Your Support

The funds raised through the Vinnies CEO Sleepout go directly towards providing crucial support and services, including:

- Emergency accommodation
- Food assistance
- Healthcare services
- Counselling
- Education and employment support
- Long-term housing solutions

In 2024, the Vinnies CEO Sleepout raised over $8 million nationally. With your help, we aim to surpass this amount in 2025 and make an even greater impact.
