One night isn't a lot, but it can make a whole lot of difference
Every day through my work at Aged Care Placement Services, I meet seniors who are facing the devastating reality of homelessness. Many have worked hard their whole lives, only to find themselves without a safe place to call home. I’m passionate about making sure our elderly community members don’t fall through the cracks. We focus on reducing the time they spend in crisis accommodation and finding them long-term housing solutions that give them back their stability, independence, and dignity.
This is why I’m taking part in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout this year — to raise money for the St Vincent de Paul Society and support Australians doing it tough.
Sleeping out for one night is just a small gesture, but it’s one way I can raise awareness and much-needed funds to help break this cycle. If you’re able to support, please know that every dollar makes a real difference in the lives of people who deserve so much more.
