Participating in their 2nd Vinnies CEO Sleepout
We need to help people get back on their feet
My second year participating in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout. We can't ignore the increase in people without homes across out beautiful city or indeed Australia.
With privilege comes responsibility and we need to invest in getting our community members back on their feet so that they can live full lives and contribute to our society while developing into their potential.
One night of discomfort is nothing in the scheme of things, what struck me on my first sleepout was realising people still go to work, take their kids to school, and function relatively normally, but then go home to a tent, a car, or park bench. Let that sink in.
